I hate BMT Micro. As an American living temporarily in Chile but with only an American credit card, since my credit card country and ISP country don’t match, they always reject my purchase and I have to go through a painfully long manual billing process with them. It happened with “My Ex-Boyfriend the Space Tyrant”, and of course, it’s happening again with Coming Out On Top.
I was so excited that I could barely sleep last night (I’m five hours ahead of Pacific Time) and kept dreaming about playing the game, so finally at 6:00, I gave up and went to order it and BLARGH. I hate you, BMT Micro. I love you and your game that will undoubtedly be amazing and keep me itching to go home and play it all day at work today, Obscura!
I’m having trouble with them too. I’ve tried ordering a couple of times, the information is definitely right, but it keeps getting declined? I’ve tried e-mailing them asking what’s up with no response so far. Very frustrating.
In my experience, they WILL respond. It may take 6-8 hours, but they’ll get back to you. I emailed them right away asking if they could do what they did last time my CC was rejected because of the ISP / CC country difference and send me a billing request directly through e-mail. Here’s hoping that they’ll answer soon because if I can’t play COOT when I get home from work tonight, I will probably become a pouty, temper-tantrum throwing mess, and my sexy hubby and our four kitties will flee in horror.
I’ve had the same problem. It almost seems like BMT Micro just randomly declines my purchases or make me half a day sometimes before processing my payment. Had to try twice this time but it finally worked.
Thought you should know though, that if the problem is the countries not matching you could always try VPN’s. There are a bunch of free once if you just google it.
I was thinking about the public VPN route, or using a proxy, but I’m not sure how I feel about sending credit card information through a public VPN / proxy.
I feel dumb as shit now, though, because my organization has two locations (Chile + Hawaii) and I actually have Hawaii VPN access through my organization. I probably could have used that and avoided all the hassle.
(Incidentally, my payment was processed about an hour ago… around eight hours after I tried to make the purchase. But at least tonight I’ll have hot Ian waiting for me when I get back from work! =swoon=)
Yes exact same problem. I love how BMT just simply declines the transaction without verifying first. Do they know how many expats there are in the world? I hate this kind of shit happening when I really want something sooooo bad.

I am also trying to find other vendors to sell the game as well for people can only pay through other means FYI. It make take me a bit of time though. If you guys have suggestions for additional vendors let me know. Thanks!
First of all, I probably have no idea what I am talking about, just throwing ideas out there…..but what about Amazon Payment? Since I have seen adult stuff being sold on Amazon….(I mean, even sex toys are sold on Amazon) Plus, Kickstarter uses Amazon Payment as well, so for the many people with Kickstarter accounts (like me) who missed out on pledging, it is already a payment option that is being used.

Hi i followed the link enter my credit card info, and the billing adress, I´m from Mexico, and used my normal card, didnt have any problems doing the transaction only had to wait like 30 minutes for the data verification and then they sent me the link to download the game, i´m downloadign it right now and cant wait to start playing it, hope you have an easy time with the payment

Turns out after 5 hours of waiting, they just said “Sorry your card is declined”. SERIOUSLY!?!?! I really agree with you that there should be another way to pay for this to get the game instantly. 😦
I just bought the game and can’t run it on my computer (Windows 8). When I double-click the exe. file a window opens but after that nothing happens. I’m extremely frustrated, since the demo worked perfectly on my old computer and I’ve been really waiting for this game to release. What should I do?
Not BMT. Sorry Obscura but I definitely won’t be buying through them. It’s just way too subpar a vendor- so disappointing. I was looking forward to this game for so long but with this vendor ill probably never buy it.
Obscura I bought the game but BMT Micro said my debit card was declined, but upon seeing my statement of account online it said that there has been a deduction of 667.40 PHP roughly around 15.09 USD. I tried contacting BMT Micro but since I live in the Philippines there office hours are close and I also tried emailing them no reply as of yet!! Hopefully you can help me please!!!!!
Send them an e-mail and unfortunately, just be patient. I feel your pain: I have to manually get every purchase done through them with them sending me a billing request over e-mail and then approving it manually because of the fact that my CC is US and I live in Chile.
It’s possible they didn’t really charge you for the game, the money is just not showing up because it’s being held up in a preauthorization hold.
Sometimes with certain debit/credit cards, the bank will place a certain amount of money on hold while they process the transaction, and once it goes through they release the funds back into your account. It’s a matter of waiting for them to process the transaction (how long that is varies depending on the card issuer/transaction)
I used to work for a prepaid card company and this happened all the time. It also happened to me once using a prepaid credit card on Amazon.
I obviously can’t say if this is what’s happening in your case for sure (you should doublecheck that with BMT) but it may be what’s happening
Am i the only one who is stuck in the transaction with BMT micro because i’m outside of the us? i’ve waited for it to approve for like 1 hour or so. BTW loved the demo, i’m sure the game is going to be AWESOME as well.
a lot of us outside of the US are having issues. I emailed them after two hours when I still did not get a second e-mail with the download, and 5 hours later I was told it was declined because of my IP mismatch and if I could verify the billing address, they can “force the order through”. So I immediately e-mailed them back confirming that I was traveling outside of the US and verified my address.
Hopefully it won’t take another 5 hours for them to respond
Same situation here. After they e-mailed me and I e-mailed them back, it took less than an hour for them to sort it out. Hope you’re just as lucky.

Wow, after 5 hours of waiting BMT Micro finally replied saying ‘Sorry, your card has been declined’. Are you serious? After waiting for 5 hours they tell me that it didnt even work in the first place. Why didnt they say it at the checkout then? Why did they say ‘oh the emails gonna come!’ and then just ‘whoops, its not coming haha!’ UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. What do I doooo?
It means they waited for a human being to look at your card and decide whether it was suspicious or not rather than just automatically turning you down, probably. email orders@bmtmicro.com and whine at them

Yeah it sucks, you can only pay by BMT, which, if you aren’t living in the US, will probably take a couple days for you to actually play because the cards keep getting freaking declined. It’s sooooo annoying.

When there’s a problem it usually takes hours to fix, not days.

a) Someone literally doesn’t know what the word literally means.
b) -Most- dating sims use BMT Micro for sales if they’re not on Steam. They may still suck, but it’s not like this is any different than tons of other games go through.
c) BMT Micro is a company run by about 5 people total who live in North Carolina. If their computer system flags a purchase as ‘potentially suspicious, a human should look at this’ then it has to wait for one of those five people to be awake and in the office. So if it’s the middle of the night eastern time, there’ll be a delay.

BMT is terrible but the reason obscura couldn’t use paypal is because adult content is against their TOS.
It’s unfortunate that many of you guys can’t get into the game. Hopefully Obscura can sort this out, but you shouldn’t give up on the game just yet. I’ve been at it for almost 6 hours and there are so many scenes and routes one can take. Every small decision will dictate the next scene. I’m enjoying the content so far. Brads scene so far has been my favorite, all the way to the very last picture that will melt your heart. 🙂

I am unable to play the game, every time I try to open it on my Mac the icon tries to appear on the dock but immediately disappears. No window opens, nothing. I changed my security settings to allow any app to open, made no difference.
Alex storyline is horrid. Fix it please. I was bored from the beginning to the end. Nothing romantically/sexually happens. I’m still upset about it. Worst one so far!!!
So several hours and emails later after clearing up the IP mismatch drama with BMT Micro, I am still waiting for them to process the payment. It has been EIGHT HOURS since I placed the order for this game and am still waiting for BMT to take my f***ing money and allow me access to the product I am trying to purchase. This is very frustrating. I understand why Obscura couldn’t use Paypal blah blah but surely there must be a better payment processing agent out there?

I was just wondering, is there a way (some hidden flag or option) to enable hints in the game to see relations points? Like it used to be in earlier betas. ’cause I ended the game several times, but still can’t unlock some of the scenes that I know are there… Wonder how to see the points.
I had the Brad and Alex endings, but it’s not so Happy. In Brad’s ending, you didn’t see him in 2 weeks. In Alex’s ending, he just shakes your hand to thank you

Well a lot of it really depends if you got Ian that threesome. If you did then you have make these specific choices. During the threesome you listen in. Then let Ian wingman for you and eventually Ian will kiss you again.
I don’t remember the exact order from here, but I do know what to do. When Ian shows up drunk, you must not let him give you a blowjob. Pick the second option and he’ll confess that he has a crush on you. After that you kiss him. He’ll run out. During his birthday you tell him that the hand thing is a coincidence. You tell Penny what’s going on and then eventually talk to Ian before he leaves with Zoe. Tell him that you like him and he’ll up and leave. Penny will then ask you to return Ian’s present and when you do, you see Zoe. You will call her and then go to her house. She will lead you to Ian who is all tied up and you either have your way with him or you let him go.

Yeah, you have to find him at the right church (first choice) and then later convince his band members of not kicking him ot of the band and to go suport him at his countest. They’ll end up rockstar and you’ll get to have orgies. At least thats as close as a good ending I got

Sounds to me like maybe something went wrong with the download. Contact BMT Micro and tell them your download was corrupt and ask them for another link and try again.

Well did you get the kiss scene at the frat? If you did listen into Ian’s threesome. After read through his attempts to be your wingman and right after that you get into an argument then he kisses you.
Just keep reading through and you’ll eventually get to the part where Ian comes to the apartment drunk. He’ll then barge into the room and at that point when three options show up, pick the second one. He’ll confess what he’s been hiding. He falls asleep next to you and at this point you are given more options. Kiss him.
Shit happens and then you give him the present thing happens. After that you have to talk to him when you get the chance and confess your feelings towards him. After he leaves to go to “Vegas,” Penny will ask you to return Ian’s present. At the shop you’ll see Zoe and you have to pursue her. Once you make it to her house you’ll find Ian all tied up and blindfolded. She then gives you the choice to either a) do what you want with him or b) let him go. I chose A. Have your way with him and then when you are done he’ll talk some more pick one of the options. (I picked the first one.) And at the end of the game they get married. 😀
I managed to get Alex’s office sex scenes but im stuck in getting his good ending…i always get the “evening at the park” scene with him at the last part no matter which choices i choose…pls. help

Question for the lucky people who have been able to buy the game, is there an ending where you end up with more than one of the guys? (a harem ending, to use the regular visual novel term) Or are you forced to stick with one guy throughout the game?
As far as I can tell, you can flirt with many of the guys and even have sex with Jed, but there comes a point for each guy where you’re offered a decision to commit to following his route or rejecting him, so no, I’m almost fully certain that you can only end up with one guy.
My flatmate bought this for me as an early Christmas present (she knows me so well!) And she bought ordered it 13 hours ago and all we’ve received is an email saying that it’s going to be “reviewed shortly” 😢

I hate BMT Micro. As an American living temporarily in Chile but with only an American credit card, since my credit card country and ISP country don’t match, they always reject my purchase and I have to go through a painfully long manual billing process with them. It happened with “My Ex-Boyfriend the Space Tyrant”, and of course, it’s happening again with Coming Out On Top.
I was so excited that I could barely sleep last night (I’m five hours ahead of Pacific Time) and kept dreaming about playing the game, so finally at 6:00, I gave up and went to order it and BLARGH. I hate you, BMT Micro. I love you and your game that will undoubtedly be amazing and keep me itching to go home and play it all day at work today, Obscura!
I’m having trouble with them too. I’ve tried ordering a couple of times, the information is definitely right, but it keeps getting declined? I’ve tried e-mailing them asking what’s up with no response so far. Very frustrating.
In my experience, they WILL respond. It may take 6-8 hours, but they’ll get back to you. I emailed them right away asking if they could do what they did last time my CC was rejected because of the ISP / CC country difference and send me a billing request directly through e-mail. Here’s hoping that they’ll answer soon because if I can’t play COOT when I get home from work tonight, I will probably become a pouty, temper-tantrum throwing mess, and my sexy hubby and our four kitties will flee in horror.
I’ve had the same problem. It almost seems like BMT Micro just randomly declines my purchases or make me half a day sometimes before processing my payment. Had to try twice this time but it finally worked.
Thought you should know though, that if the problem is the countries not matching you could always try VPN’s. There are a bunch of free once if you just google it.
I was thinking about the public VPN route, or using a proxy, but I’m not sure how I feel about sending credit card information through a public VPN / proxy.
I feel dumb as shit now, though, because my organization has two locations (Chile + Hawaii) and I actually have Hawaii VPN access through my organization. I probably could have used that and avoided all the hassle.
(Incidentally, my payment was processed about an hour ago… around eight hours after I tried to make the purchase. But at least tonight I’ll have hot Ian waiting for me when I get back from work! =swoon=)
Yes exact same problem. I love how BMT just simply declines the transaction without verifying first. Do they know how many expats there are in the world? I hate this kind of shit happening when I really want something sooooo bad.

I think any credit card SHOULD work. They will probably review your purchase manually, which will take a couple of hours, but you should be fine.

I just bought the game and can’t run it on my computer (Windows 8). When I double-click the exe. file a window opens but after that nothing happens. I’m extremely frustrated, since the demo worked perfectly on my old computer and I’ve been really waiting for this game to release. What should I do?

Obscura I bought the game but BMT Micro said my debit card was declined, but upon seeing my statement of account online it said that there has been a deduction of 667.40 PHP roughly around 15.09 USD. I tried contacting BMT Micro but since I live in the Philippines there office hours are close and I also tried emailing them no reply as of yet!! Hopefully you can help me please!!!!!
Send them an e-mail and unfortunately, just be patient. I feel your pain: I have to manually get every purchase done through them with them sending me a billing request over e-mail and then approving it manually because of the fact that my CC is US and I live in Chile.

It’s possible they didn’t really charge you for the game, the money is just not showing up because it’s being held up in a preauthorization hold.
Sometimes with certain debit/credit cards, the bank will place a certain amount of money on hold while they process the transaction, and once it goes through they release the funds back into your account. It’s a matter of waiting for them to process the transaction (how long that is varies depending on the card issuer/transaction)
I used to work for a prepaid card company and this happened all the time. It also happened to me once using a prepaid credit card on Amazon.
I obviously can’t say if this is what’s happening in your case for sure (you should doublecheck that with BMT) but it may be what’s happening
Am i the only one who is stuck in the transaction with BMT micro because i’m outside of the us? i’ve waited for it to approve for like 1 hour or so. BTW loved the demo, i’m sure the game is going to be AWESOME as well.
a lot of us outside of the US are having issues. I emailed them after two hours when I still did not get a second e-mail with the download, and 5 hours later I was told it was declined because of my IP mismatch and if I could verify the billing address, they can “force the order through”. So I immediately e-mailed them back confirming that I was traveling outside of the US and verified my address.
Hopefully it won’t take another 5 hours for them to respond

After waiting for 5 hours they tell me that it didnt even work in the first place. Why didnt they say it at the checkout then? a) Someone literally doesn’t know what the word literally means.
b) -Most- dating sims use BMT Micro for sales if they’re not on Steam. They may still suck, but it’s not like this is any different than tons of other games go through.
c) BMT Micro is a company run by about 5 people total who live in North Carolina. If their computer system flags a purchase as ‘potentially suspicious, a human should look at this’ then it has to wait for one of those five people to be awake and in the office. So if it’s the middle of the night eastern time, there’ll be a delay.
I agree with you that it’s hugely annoying, I’m just trying to explain how it works.
BMT is terrible but the reason obscura couldn’t use paypal is because adult content is against their TOS.
It’s unfortunate that many of you guys can’t get into the game. Hopefully Obscura can sort this out, but you shouldn’t give up on the game just yet. I’ve been at it for almost 6 hours and there are so many scenes and routes one can take. Every small decision will dictate the next scene. I’m enjoying the content so far. Brads scene so far has been my favorite, all the way to the very last picture that will melt your heart. 🙂

I got the game… It’s just that I got an extra ten dollars taken out of my account….. Is that even normal?
I am unable to play the game, every time I try to open it on my Mac the icon tries to appear on the dock but immediately disappears. No window opens, nothing. I changed my security settings to allow any app to open, made no difference.
It’s working now. Didn’t know the app needed to be in the folder with the other files, thought it would be a self-contained app.
Alex storyline is horrid. Fix it please. I was bored from the beginning to the end. Nothing romantically/sexually happens. I’m still upset about it. Worst one so far!!!

Well a lot of it really depends if you got Ian that threesome. If you did then you have make these specific choices. During the threesome you listen in. Then let Ian wingman for you and eventually Ian will kiss you again.
I don’t remember the exact order from here, but I do know what to do. When Ian shows up drunk, you must not let him give you a blowjob. Pick the second option and he’ll confess that he has a crush on you. After that you kiss him. He’ll run out. During his birthday you tell him that the hand thing is a coincidence. You tell Penny what’s going on and then eventually talk to Ian before he leaves with Zoe. Tell him that you like him and he’ll up and leave. Penny will then ask you to return Ian’s present and when you do, you see Zoe. You will call her and then go to her house. She will lead you to Ian who is all tied up and you either have your way with him or you let him go.
Have your way with him and after you guys have lots and lots of sex, you will talk. Pick the first option (where you basically tell him again that you like him.) The game goes through graduation and a time skip will happen where you guys are getting married. 😀

Anyone end up with a happy ending for Jed? I keep getting a different ending where the end mentions Jed but they don’t end up together- idk if that IS the ending or if I’m just not making the right choices.
I am in the same boat. I either get Jed being a drug dealer or he doesn’t even appear in the ending.
Yeah, you have to find him at the right church (first choice) and then later convince his band members of not kicking him ot of the band and to go suport him at his countest. They’ll end up rockstar and you’ll get to have orgies. At least thats as close as a good ending I got

Sounds to me like maybe something went wrong with the download. Contact BMT Micro and tell them your download was corrupt and ask them for another link and try again.

Obscura, you need to be more aggressive on your sex scenes. If you describe a big bulge, by God I want to see that “BIG BULGE” like literally. The lining of their shaft along those tight jeans or something. Heck even in their underwear. I didn’t see a single scene with them in their underwear. Tragic. The sex scene needs to be raw and absolutely visible (COCK AND BALLS) and show that anus, girl. Don’t be shy about that. Hungry pigs like us want to see it ALL. Very little sex scene and a lot of reading. Thanks! Overall a 7 out of 10 rating!!!
How do I get Ian? I’ve played through the game 5 or 6 times and always seem to be just friends with him. Is Mark’s shot at the frat party when he is acting as wingman? Thanks!
Yep, just convince the girls to stick around to have fun with Ian and afterwards things start to unfold – it takes some time though.
Well did you get the kiss scene at the frat? If you did listen into Ian’s threesome. After read through his attempts to be your wingman and right after that you get into an argument then he kisses you.
Just keep reading through and you’ll eventually get to the part where Ian comes to the apartment drunk. He’ll then barge into the room and at that point when three options show up, pick the second one. He’ll confess what he’s been hiding. He falls asleep next to you and at this point you are given more options. Kiss him.
Shit happens and then you give him the present thing happens. After that you have to talk to him when you get the chance and confess your feelings towards him. After he leaves to go to “Vegas,” Penny will ask you to return Ian’s present. At the shop you’ll see Zoe and you have to pursue her. Once you make it to her house you’ll find Ian all tied up and blindfolded. She then gives you the choice to either a) do what you want with him or b) let him go. I chose A. Have your way with him and then when you are done he’ll talk some more pick one of the options. (I picked the first one.) And at the end of the game they get married. 😀

OMFG I got it xD I dont go for the office sex, just kiss him and stop. At exam, when Mark handed in, he snaps at Alex for a moment. Then at night scene, they kissed again 🙂 2 years later they moved in together (no wedding as with Ian)
(I hope that is all what required, since i did make some different choice here then there to test out)

At the beginning when Mark first met Alex, I chose “no thanks, I’m good”, then “No I have never been here before”, then “Actually i wasn’t looking….”
I have an Alex walkthrough with all the dialog choices from beginning to end of the game that will give the best ending for him. If you guys want me to post it, let me know and I will. (I’m at work and it’s on my home computer, so it’ll have to be later today.) I also have Brad and Ian, so I can post those as well.
Had no problem paying with my credit card and downloading (I’m from Germany) the game. Hope it’ll work out for everyone who currently has problems, as well!

I’m sure I’ll have a blast and next weekend can’t arrive soon enough! I think I’ll play COOT for at least these two days straight (well, or gay, in this case XP) – want to check out everyone’s story line, Mark’s “forever alone” route, as well – though maybe that’s all I can get in the end (without a walkthrough ‘XP). I’m curios how difficult some of these routes will be… I heard Alex is a challenge?! – well, challenge accepted! 😉

Question for the lucky people who have been able to buy the game, is there an ending where you end up with more than one of the guys? (a harem ending, to use the regular visual novel term) Or are you forced to stick with one guy throughout the game?
As far as I can tell, you can flirt with many of the guys and even have sex with Jed, but there comes a point for each guy where you’re offered a decision to commit to following his route or rejecting him, so no, I’m almost fully certain that you can only end up with one guy.
My flatmate bought this for me as an early Christmas present (she knows me so well!) And she bought ordered it 13 hours ago and all we’ve received is an email saying that it’s going to be “reviewed shortly” 😢
